rubik's meets a chinese poem meets lasercutting meets woodblock printing

yu-hsiang "shaun" chung, a parsons student made

this "movable type cube" back in 2010.

if you solve the rubik's cube you can read

“three character classic,” a traditional chinese text

that teaches young children to be a good person in the society. :)

well, actually you can't, i guess,

because the now assembled cube can be used for

stamping on paper or other surfaces

and then you can read the poem on the surface.

so you have to be able to read chinese backwards

if you want to solve the cube correctly,

but, i think that makes is all the more

interesting.

nos, ez egy rubikkocka, amelyen lézervágott 

kínai betűk találhatóak, és ha rendesen kirakjuk

a kockát, akkor egy kis kínai oktatóversikét

olvashatunk rajta, amely kis kínaiakat (értsd:

gyerekeket) tanít a jóságra...

illetve mégsem pontosan így van, mert a versike

akkor olvasható egy felületen, ha pecsételőként

használjuk a kockát.

szóval oda-vissza ismernünk kell a

kínai nyelvet, hogy ki tudjuk rakni, de szerintem

ez csak még érdekesebbé teszi a dolgot.

i made it into the next round of the competition. :)

i think i kinda prepared myself for both scenarios...

i could have accepted the relief of not having to make this mini collection,

but i truly hope that having to make it will be so much more of a thrill!

hát, úgy néz ki, hogy továbbjutottam a "gombold újra" pályázaton! :)

nagyon jó, hogy ilyen hamar eldöntötték, mert így is nagyon ideges voltam.

igyekeztem mindkét lehetőségre felkészülni, de az esélylatolgatás azért

eléggé idegőrlő mulatság...

elhatároztam, hogy ha nem jutok tovább, akkor annak fogok örülni, hogy

nem kell belevetbem magam a munkába éjt napallá téve,

ha pedig továbbjutok, akkor annak, hogy végre belevethetem magam

a munkába, éjt nappallá téve.

nagyon szeretném megmutatni nektek a terveket, de azt hiszem,

először utána kell kérdeznem, hogy mit szabad és mit nem.

mindenesetre, nagggyon-nagggyon örülök, hogy tetszett nekik

a "vízióm", és nagyon remélem, hogy ezek után meg tudom
