takes my breath away

it really does.
i'm in love with this gilet.
just how breathtaking is that embroidery.
it seems to be worked similar to goldwork,
but i'm quite sure that these threads are not coiled
as usually in goldwork.
anyways, it's beautiful, and i love that
the embroidery is the same color
as the woolen base...
it is just a beautiful relief worked in textile.

(it was also tagged paul smith,
but i have no idea whatsoever
whether this could be a paul smith or not.)

i like the idea

i like the idea of hiding your
thermostat, switches, sockets and doorbell
in this nice a way.

just a little this and that

one for each.

hand-bound beauty

i'm totally into bookbinding
ever since i bound my thesis this may,
and i have a piece in mind
that is not very dissimilar to the one above.

an oversized book created by roandco studio for monique péan.
found through karyn armour's pinterest.

in remembrance

i post this beautiful image in remembrance of
one of my uncles, peter,
who was a renowned mountainclimber
and who died this day eleven years ago
after climbing disteghil sar (7885 m)
in the karakorum (pakistan).
i wonder what he's doing now...

easy pieces

i love linen... i really want to make my own version of
an easy linen blazer.
i also like the little bouclé vest with biker jacket front.
