fragile fairies

hiding in the cloud of a fausto sarli bolero.

some fairies in roccobarocco couture.

fausto sarli.

gattiononi couture.

sarli.

sarli.

roccobarocco couture.

chanel haute couture.
this chanel dress has been a favorite of mine.
that embroidered tree is exquisite. it's a wonder.
i'm sure it's made by lesage.

all images from the alta moda (couture) supplement of
vogue italia september 1997.
models audrey marnay plus an other girl whom i don't know.
photos by satoshi saikusa.
scanned by me.
some of the images are cropped.

i think a little disclaimer is also needed here:
i'm well aware that these girls are overly frail.
i just want to let you know that i couldn't be further
from advocating skinniness or starving your body.
the sole reason for my sharing these is
that i personally find them inspiring (visually and designwise).
please look at them as fairies.

would wear

1 _ philip lim raglan sleeve sweater.
2 _ viktor&rolf pants. both via ii-ne-kore (cool blog!)
she found them on la garconne.
3 _ jil sander shoe via frostedwindows.

a little this and that _ a little bit of history repeating

with new colors and new patterns.
i find this utterly funny.

1 _ photo by anna positano, via vogue.it.

things _ black

2 _ spread by shelsey birch.
3 _ a tapio wirkkala vase, via yama-bato.
4 _ a forrest myers work, 1980, via mondoblogo.
5 _ via misscheriebijou.

easy pieces

easy knits with a delicate necklace.

drapey.

nice color combo.
i also love that layered tank top... seems to be one piece.

if less is more, than why not go backless?

anazing! i can totally picture myself in this.
i find it beautiful with those buckles.

i like the idea of a sweater made of woven fabric.

that sweater is just perfect... i love that neck detail.
nice pops of color too.
and the unfinished edges on the coat!
i like the idea of pairing raw edges with nicely finished ones...
i guess the result can be quite refined.

these things are actually meant for
the australian winter days,
but this summer is not very generous with sunshine,
so we could just as well wear some of these even here
in the northern hemisphere.

still, it seems, that summer is not over yet...
according to weather forcast we're now
going to have a few quite warm and sunny days.
yay! let's go outside.
