This quote resounded in my mind as I took a bath to 

think about what exactly my line of work should be.

Found some time ago on brainpickings.

in other news _ i'm starting over

haha. i guess i've said that or

something similar numerous times before.

but then again, so what. it happens every
now and again. starting over, i mean.

so after two years as an art director/layouter
at a small trade magazine for "all things baby and
kids", i am now free to embark upon my journey
as an artist slash illustrator slash craftsman
slash ... (i might fill this in later).

i know i shouldn't share this lest it
wouldn't turn out the way i had planned it,
but i do. i need to share most everything
anyway just to put myself out there and
to maybe gauge the worth of my little
"darlings", so you would've
noticed anyway.

what's more, today marked my 44th
birthday, so here's to a (hopefully) wonderful
new section in the life of me.

i like the idea _ collage play

you just arrange it any which way you like,

take a photo, then set it another way, 

take another photo, and keep on playing

until you get bored. maybe you'll never

even get bored. i'll try it.

like, quite a few years ago i've seen a jean jacket
that had a heavily embroidered lining.

or do you remember that collection of

jil sander (s/s 2000) where she put some simple
pieces on the runway, that were printed on the inside?

they looked like pale print from the outside, but if

you turned them inside out, it was obvious that they were

printed only on the inside with very vivid colors.

which means of course, that she simply used the

fabric outside in. i've already seen men's shirts

using the same concept too.

and maybe i've also seen wardrobes that were
painted on the inside only. not sure.
