i just a love a place that offers a lot

to look at, touch, feel, smell, lick, covet,

think about, ask about, dream about, talk about or talk to.

this home has so many little collections, that it might just as well

make me feel almost dizzy if i was there... but it would

certainly make me feel good! these little collections are a feast

for my eyes and i think i would just hop from object to object

and would touch or stroke everything, as i usually do

with objects i like.

nagyon szeretem az olyan otthonokat, amelyek sok nézni-,
tapintani-, szagolgatni-, gondolkodnivalóval szolgálnak.
olyanokkal persze, amelyek a kedvemre valók.
ez a hely eléggé olyan. és bár lehet, hogy kicsit
beleszédülnék a hatalmas látnivaló-mennyiségbe,
egészen bizonyos, hogy nagyon jól érezném magam,
ha ott lennék. folyamatosan tárgyról tárgyra
ugrálna a szemem, és valószínűleg csomó mindent

a very fun alternative to a genuine fur coat
is this tufted wool coat, that you can even make for yourself.

yeah, the effect is very different, but it's still a furry coat,
and i just love it.
i actually have nothing against real fur,
if it's meant for a lifetime.
i think man has always used pelts and leathers
for the protection of the body.
i now have a shearling coat
that i inherited from my grandma.
however, i'm very much against fashion fur
that you discard or pass on after a season.
it's quite a funny thing that nowadays
we don't hear much about peta
and designers are wildly using furs.

maybe i'd pass the "pills" from this particular coat,
but i'd totally wear it, even in this color combo.

nagyon vicces ez a pompomos vagy inkább
csomózott kabát. nekem bejön.
és ha valaki elég ügyes, még saját maga is
megpróbálkozhat az elkészítésével.
vicces és nagyon jó alternatívája lehet
egy igazi bundának. persze, egész más hatást kelt,
de akkor is egy szőrmók kabát, csakúgy, mint a bunda.
nincs amúgy bajom az igazi szőrmével, ha tényleg
hosszú távra vagy egy életre szól.
azt gondolom, hogy az ember mindig is használt
szőrmét és bőrt a teste védelmére...
nekem is van most egy irhakabátom,
amelyet a nagymamimtól örököltem.
nem vagyok azonban oda a divat-szőrme
dolgokért, amelyeket aztán rövid időn belül lecserélnek...
az pazarlás és felelőtlenség.

a bogyókat asszem, leszedném erről a bizonyos példányról,
de én tutira hordanám ezt, még ebben a színösszeállításban is.

there are so many great spas here in budapest, but i hardly ever go.

i also have plans for a little bit of cleaning and work. :)

milyen jó is egy hétvégi napon

összegömbölyödni,

aztán délután fürdőbe megyünk. a széchenyibe.

én nem vagyok nagy fürdőzős, de az egyik barátom

komoly munkávan végül rábeszélt. remélem, jó lesz

ezen kívül némi takarítás és munka is van még mára tervezve.

rather than in a checkered pattern?

i think it's a great idea.

in this particular place it's not striped everywhere...

in the rest of the room one row of black tiles runs around as a thick line

parallel to the walls, creating a frame around the middle of the space.

i made it into the next round of the competition. :)

i think i kinda prepared myself for both scenarios...

i could have accepted the relief of not having to make this mini collection,

but i truly hope that having to make it will be so much more of a thrill!

hát, úgy néz ki, hogy továbbjutottam a "gombold újra" pályázaton! :)

nagyon jó, hogy ilyen hamar eldöntötték, mert így is nagyon ideges voltam.

igyekeztem mindkét lehetőségre felkészülni, de az esélylatolgatás azért

eléggé idegőrlő mulatság...

elhatároztam, hogy ha nem jutok tovább, akkor annak fogok örülni, hogy

nem kell belevetbem magam a munkába éjt napallá téve,

nagyon szeretném megmutatni nektek a terveket, de azt hiszem,

can you imagine i entered a fashion design contest?!

it's hard to, right?

the odds for my getting through to round two are pretty scant tho.

first of all, i'm no fashion designer. second, i don't think they think i have

a place among all those fashion students and established designers who entered.

and there are hundreds of them.

not to mention, i started really working on it at 10 pm the night before the big day,

so yes, i'm sure it would have turned out better if i had started a week before

and went to the library to do some research as i had planned to do... but that's okay now.

in the end i literally had to run to make it, and i arrived 8 minutes before the due time.

but procrastination must be some hungarian desease, so i was not alone...

also, i was not the last one to arrive.

okay, whatever...

me getting through would be a pure miracle.

but to me, that's not the point...

entering, and doing something and not letting it go,

and not just dreaming is already a big, big thing for me.

so regardless of whether i get through or not, i promise that i'll show you

the designs i submitted.

i'll know more on wednesday.

el tudjátok képzelni, hogy beneveztem a gombold újra pályázatra??
én is alig tudom elképzelni. :) :)
nem táplálok túl nagy reményt a továbbjutásommal kapcsolatban, mert
először is, én nem vagyok divattervező,
másodszor pedig nem hinném, hogy ők azt fogják gondolni, hogy van helyem
egy ilyen versenyben a sok-sok tehetséges momés és egyéb
divatiskolás között, hogy a már befutott divattervezőkről ne is beszéljünk.
sok százan jelentkeztek, és csak vagy 20-30-at fognak kiválasztani, akiknek majd
el kell készíteniük a kollekciójukat.
hja, és arról már ne is beszéljünk, hogy a leadás előtti nap este tízkor
kezdtem el rendesen dolgozni rajta, addig csak a fejemben motoszkáltak a dolgok.
és persze nem mentem el könyvtárba kutatómunkát végezni, ahogy eredetileg
szépen elterveztem... de ez most már mindegy. :)
és végül még futnom is kellett, nehogy lekéssem a leadást...
ilyesmit az egyetemen más sokszor kellett csinálnom,
úgyhogy nagyon jó vagyok futásban. végül 8 perccel hamarabb
értem oda... és nem én voltam az utolsó!

no, mindegy...
a lényeg, hogy kész csoda lenne, ha bejutnék a második fordulóba,
de az az igazság, hogy most nem is ez a lényeg...
maga a tény, hogy vettem a bátorságot, hogy benevezzek,
és hogy tényleg csináltam valamit, és még be is adtam...
szóval mindez már önmagában is nagy dolog nekem, az örök álmodozónak.
persze, nem mondom, hogy nem ugranék ki a bőrömből,
ha bejutnék, de nem leszek csalódott akkor sem, ha nem jutok.

és akárhogy is lesz, ígérem, hogy megmutatom majd nektek,
hogy miket adtam le. :)

i love, love, love the photography that victor makes.

i only know him through his blog,

but he seems like a very sweet guy, sensible and sensitive.

victor is only sixteen, which made me think about

pursuing your interest in life early on...

i mean... maybe he won't be a photographer later,

but maybe he will. and i'm quite sure that

looking at the world with a photographer's eyes now,

will or might make all the difference for him later on.

i remember, i started sewing when i was nine or ten.

(and started drawing when i could lift a pencil,

but maybe that's just normal for a kid.)

well i'm not a seamstress now, but i think that

creating is somehow ingrained in me, even tho

right now i only do it in my head...

but just wait and see,

one day i'll make stuff again, i promise.

victort csak a blogjáról ismerem,

de nagyon kedves fiúnak képzelem.

a dominikai köztársaságban él... onnan jött oscar de la renta is. :)

még csak tizenhat éves, amiről az jut eszembe,

hogy szerintem nagyon jó dolog fiatalon elkezdeni

azt a tevékenységet, ami érdekel az életben.

lehet, hogy felnőttkorában nem is fotós lesz, de szinte

biztos vagyok abban, hogy hasznára lesz majd

később is, hogy már most fotós szemmel szemléli a világot.

erről az jut eszembe, hogy én is kilenc-tízéves forma

lehettem, amikor elkezdtem varrni...

(rajzolni persze ennél sokkal hamarabb kezdtem, de az talán

természetes, hogy a gyerekek rajzolnak.)

és hál istennek most nem varrónőként tengetem az életem

(a tengetem az igaz, csak a varrónő nem), mégis azt

gondolom, hogy belémevődött (hú, milyen szavakat használok... :D)

az alkotás mint olyan, és habár most sokkal

inkább csak fejben vagy álmomban játszom,

azért biztos vagyok benne, hogy

hamarosan újra fogok dolgokat alkotni. :)

i'm very much into the idea of these lovely tapestry necklaces.

they look like tiny kilims.

to be honest, i'm not that keen about the glass and metal beads

the artist uses to combine them with, but thee are not bad either.

i don't know what i would use... maybe i'll leave them on their own.

but maybe they really have to be weighted down a bit...

how about vintage silver then?

anyways, they are made by kata trom, a hungarian interior designer (english site).

passed away two days ago, on december 30th 2011,
at the age of 105.
she's one of those people i've wanted to meet, hug
and tell how much i loved.
i can't do that in person any more
but i've done it numerous times in my imagination.
her life and thoughts on beauty and design
continue to be tremendous inspiration to me.

my dear friends,

naaaaay, this is not me. it's hungarian singer adrienn zsédenyi.

so i did this charity piece for avon's campaign against breast cancer.

they asked 25 artists (mostly young ones, not necessarily established ones)

to transform 25 pink mannequins into some artworks.

that's what i came up with.

i'm quite pleased with the result, but of course it

could have been so much better hadn't i started

making it some three weeks after the due date.

but that's just me...

i simply couldn't touch it until the day that i got a call

that they would pick it up that night...

and those were very busy days at the office, too.

so i asked for a couple more days and made it.

i guess i can work and produce some good work without

the pressue of time, but for some reason i just don't do it...

i'd love to learn how to do that.

anyways, i hope you like it.

but of course it's okay if you don't.
